*Our Dogs
All of our Maltese dogs are AKC registered. They are our pets and live in our homes with us. They are our beloved pets. Maltese puppies are raised under our feet with much love and attention. They will be socialized and well started on potty training when you receive them.
Our Maltese dogs are selected and bred according to breed standards set forth by the American Kennel Club (AKC). You can find the breed standards listed on the AKC website at www.akc.org .
- Toy Group; AKC recognized in 1888
- Under 7 lbs; 4 to 6 pounds preferred.
- Companion dog.
- For all his dimintive size, the Maltese seems to be without fear. His trust and affectionate responsiveness are very appealing. He is among the gentlest mannered of all little dogs, yet he is lively and playful as well as vigorous.
The Maltese is listed in the "Toy" category. There is one size and only one size recognized by the AKC for the Maltese (Under 7 pounds; 4 to 6 preferred). There are not three sizes as there are for the Poodle (Standard, Miniature and Toy). There is no recognition of a "Teacup Maltese".
Our pedigree's will contain Champions not because we are show breeders, but to keep the quality of our dogs high and true to breed standards. We strive to produce beautiful, lovable and healthy companions.
We are not brokers. The puppies we sell are produced in our homes by our females that have been bred by our males. They are owned by either Lucille or Linda.
We do not sell to brokers or pet stores as we care about the well-being of our puppies. They deserve a loving home like they grow up in and we want to help them find one.
*Health Guarantee
We offer a written health guarantee that will be signed by you and by us. We guarantee that your new puppy will be free of communicable disease and healthy when you receive him/her and will be free of life-threatening genetic conditions found during the first year. *As conscientious as we are, sometimes genes can come together wrong. For that reason, we offer the 1 year health guarantee for life-threatening genetic conditions. Most will appear during that first year if they are present.
You are required to have the puppy examined by a veterinarian within 72 hours of receiving him/her and are responsible for maintaining his/her vaccinations, feeding a healthy diet, and administering proper care and housing of your new puppy.
We care about your satisfaction with our puppies. The future health and safety of our puppies is also very important to us!
*If you would like to read our contract, please ask and I will e-mail it to you.
*Registration
Our Maltese puppies sell for pets with AKC "limited registration" unless other arrangements are made. AKC "limited registration" means that the dog can be registered with the American Kennel Club, but it cannot be shown in conformation class. If bred, the puppies will not be eligible for registration with the AKC due to the "limited registration" status placed on the registration by the breeder. Our puppies are priced at pet prices and sold with AKC "limited registration".
Full AKC registration is available, but the puppy will be priced higher. Full registration will be considered on a case by case basis.
*Vaccinations and Worming
The puppies are vaccinated and wormed at 6 weeks of age. They should receive their next vaccinations at 10 weeks and 14 weeks of age. Vaccinations and wormings given will be relational to their age when you receive them. They will come with a health record showing dates vaccinated and wormed that you can present to your veterinarian.
*Vaccination schedules vary between veterinarians. The schedule above is that of our veterinarian. Please follow the recommendations of your veterinarian for vaccinations after receiving your puppy.
*Deposits
When we have puppies available we can take deposits to hold your puppy until he/she is old enough to leave home. The remainder will be due when you receive your puppy in person or before the puppy is due to be shipped. We can accept credit card payments through PayPal or cashier's checks, money orders or cash (please do NOT mail cash). We cannot guarantee a puppy's availability unless you place a deposit on him/her.
*Shipping
We prefer not to ship our puppies if possible, but will ship them when necessary. Shipping when necessary will cost about $300. That will include the veterinary check-up, health certificate, shipping crate and airline fees.
*House-Training
Your puppy will have a good start on house-training when you receive him. He will not be fully trained but will have learned the basics. He will be comfortable with the "piddle pad" and going outside as weather permits.
*We are always here for you
After you take your puppy home, we are still available to you as a resource. We are only a phone call or e-mail away and are here to help.
